Sustainability & Transition
OUR Focus & Commitment
Jefferies considers environmental sustainability to be key driver of our long-term financial success.
Environmental responsibility
Jefferies pursues an environmental-sustainability strategy that seeks to mitigate our impact on the environment while increasing the efficiency and resiliency of our operations. We recognize that sustainability benefits society, but it also helps our business with long-term benefits, including mitigating risks, attracting new investors and shareholders, and hiring and retaining the best talent. As outlined in our most recent Sustainability Report, we hope to pursue an environmental sustainability strategy primarily focused on reducing emissions and, as a mitigation strategy, offsetting them. We are committed to matching 100% of our global electricity use with renewable, zero-carbon energy and to offsetting remaining emissions in an effort to mitigate our impact while we work to reduce our environmental footprint.
Environmental, Social & Governance
Our board and executive management team understand that financial, social and environmental sustainability go hand in hand and are enthusiastic about continuously improving in several areas most applicable to our business. We believe that companies not focused on Sustainability & Transition/DE&I initiatives will fall behind, be less agile and be less able to deliver products and services in our dynamic and volatile world.
- Jefferies has made great strides to integrate sustainability into our company strategy and objectives and we are on a long-term journey to keep getting better.
- Jefferies is committed to transparency with our stakeholders about where we lie on the path of continuous improvement and encourage our customers and business partners to do the same.
